Alternative Tweed Wedding – Victoria + Paul

When we first heard about Victoria and Paul’s quirky, alternative tweed wedding plans it was clear that they had so many ideas to make their day as personal as possible. In their words, absolutely nothing was going to be ‘traditional’. Because every detail, down to the bear claw buttons, was special to them and that was really lovely to hear. However, after a very unfortunate situation with the original venue, Victoria and Paul had only four weeks to make sure the show could go on! It was no mean feat, but they were up for the challenge and there was no-way this special day would be delayed!

ALTERNATIVE TWEED WEDDING STYLE

Victoria had commissioned a very unique wedding dress from the awesome Legend Bridal Designs. Made entirely from tweed, the two-piece wedding dress was certainly going to be like none we had ever seen before. We do love an alternative bride who dares to be different though. Paul would also be wearing a bespoke tweed waistcoat and jacket, again created by Legend Bridal Designs for the big day. So it seemed fitting that their pre-ceremony preparations took place at Legend HQ! Also including the grand reveal of their wedding attire. Yes, there were joyous tears all round…

AN INTIMATE WEDDING CEREMONY (WITH BELLS ON!)

The outdoor lovers and keen cyclists got married at Blackburn Town Hall in front of their closest friends and family. They arrived on push bikes and as newlyweds were congratulated by a deafening chorus of cheers and bicycle bells. A quirky twist on the confetti run for this ‘non-traditional’ couple.

I FEEL THE NEED – THE NEED FOR TWEED!

We planned a stop off in the Rivington countryside on the way to the reception party. It was great to spend a few fun quiet moments with the happy couple. With Victoria and Paul being such adventurous free-spirits, we made time for some shots in the wilderness of the Lancashire hills. It was a fantastic day, with so much heartfelt thought in to every special detail.

Here’s a selection of our faves and it was so amazing how you guys pulled it off in only four weeks. Thanks for sharing your day with us guys!
