You may have never hired professional photographers before, so most importantly find a style that reflects your personalities. Why should your wedding photographs look like everyone else’s? Because you are not like anyone else! Our contemporary documentary approach is relaxed, fun and creative…all the cool stuff!
If you love our work, style and approach then…yaaay! There’s probably also some key things you would like to know, all hopefully covered here in our ‘Most Asked Wedding Photography Questions’ feature.
WHAT ARE THE MOST ASKED WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY QUESTIONS WE HEAR?
There are some frequently asked questions that often come our way. So (read in an Obi-Wan style), these are the answers you’re looking for:
Can we see some of your recent weddings?
Of course! Check out the your stories page and our journal for recent weddings. If you’d like to see some full wedding galleries, get in touch. We’re happy to share full wedding photography galleries as it’s important you see the story of a whole day and get a similar feel of what shots you’ll receive too when you book us as your wedding photographers.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day…
The one thing no-one can guarantee is the weather, especially for UK weddings. We can definitely all be prepared for it though! So don’t worry, we won’t dissolve in the rain and always have our brollies and welly boots nearby, just in case. We’ll have a flexible photography schedule too and keep an eye out for the best moments for the outdoor shots. Always remember, it works both ways though. We ask, you embrace the day whatever the weather! We love an awesome couple ready to brave the elements!
Will you visit our venue first?
We absolutely like to have a good idea of what your venue has to offer as the backdrop to your big day. So if we have not been there already, we will have a good nosey round the venue and surrounding areas beforehand. That way we can make the very best of our time, with all the cool spots already in mind.
Do you take any formal shots?
Traditional family line-ups have been happening at weddings since the beginning of time. Although most of our couples would prefer to skip the formalities, if you do want to stay in the grandparents good books, of course we would make time for family photographs. We recommend you keep it to 4-5 groups tops, because rounding up people may take longer than you think. We know you would rather we were getting all the awesome documentary shots happening (and us too)! So we will confirm your ‘set list’ when we chat before the big day and get those few family mantelpiece shots ticked off as efficiently as possible.
Don’t worry, we will get the bride squad and groomsmen involved in something else a bit more fun, if you like. Group shots really don’t have to be boring or cheesy! Let’s talk record sleeve style coolness and belly laughs.
Do we need to feed you on the day?
Some venues and caterers will look after us photographers very well. You only need to tell them you will have two professional photographers and they’ll keep us happily fed and watered. Of course if you insist on making sure your favourite photographers receive the VIP treatment, it’s a long day so it would be very much appreciated.
However, we never would expect you to provide food for us on your wedding day. It’s certainly not a contractual obligation of ours and we will always have enough grub to keep us going regardless.
Where are you based?
We live by the seaside in Lancashire, England. Also known as the Vegas of the North! We have a home-meeting space that you are always welcome to visit and say hello! Our wedding adventures have taken us all over the country including Lancashire, Cheshire, Manchester, Liverpool, North Wales, Cumbria, Yorkshire, Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire.
One of the things we love is to travel, so we are also available for destination wedding photography bookings worldwide.
We don’t like having our photos taken, what will you do?
We hear this a lot…and it’s ok. Have a look through our featured weddings gallery. None of these couples were professional models; they are real people just like you. With our relaxed, easy going approach (and a little bit of direction) we can nail some epic couple shots! No awkward posing necessary. It’s painless, we promise!
If you would like to experience what it is like to be in front of our cameras before the big day, you might consider a Me and You Shoot. It’s an opportunity for us to get to know each other better, have some fun and get some awesome photographs!
Can you hold our date while we decide?
That’s definitely one of the most asked wedding photography questions. We work on a first come, first served basis. A booking form and booking fee will secure your day with us.
How much is the booking fee?
£500 – with the remaining balance payable six weeks before your day.
How long will it take to receive all our photographs?
We process all your images in-house to our unique signature style. During peak wedding seasons it can take approximately 8-10 weeks to deliver your photographs. Off-peak we will aim to have your photographs ready in 6-8 weeks. During this time there will be sneak peeks on social media and of course your preview blog in The 24 club! Plenty to keep you excited for more!
How many photos will we get?
For full day coverage, you can expect to receive at least 450 professionally edited photographs. (That was an easy one!)
It all sounds great, how do we book?
Before we book you in let’s chat first to make sure the way we work is a good fit for you, by phone is fine or you’re always welcome to visit us here at ZTHQ. Assuming you’ve had a good look through our site and you’re loving our style and approach, we’ll send you a booking form, a painless contract and details on how to pay your booking fee. Once we receive the forms alongside the booking fee, you’ve secured your wedding photography with us! Yahooooo!
When you assemble an awesome supplier team for your day, you really should have nothing to worry about. But if you have anything else that we’ve not covered in our ‘Most Asked Wedding Photography Questions’ feature, please do ask. If needed, we can also recommend some top wedding industry buddies.
