Always use a professional photographer to ensure a high standard and personal safety.
Discuss with your photographer prior to the shoot exactly what it is you want to achieve.
For a varied portfolio create a number of looks - with outfit changes plus hair and make up if possible. It is always a good idea to have some "natural" looking shots too.
Remember, you only get one chance to make a good first impression. Make sure your portfolio says the right thing about you!
